The Greenleaf Center for Servant Leadership at Seton Hall University provides individuals with opportunities from its five core programs.

Greenleaf Academy

The Center currently offers an opportunity to learn about the principles and practices of servant leadership through an online learning experience. Participants can select among three course options:

  • Foundations of Servant Leadership
    • An introduction to the legacy of  Robert K. Greenleaf, and the fundamentals of the principles and practice of servant leadership.
  • Tailored and Private Consultations
    • Consultative arrangements are available for organizational partners seeking to inculcate the philosophy of servant leadership throughout their workplace culture.

Greenleaf Scholars

The purpose of the Greenleaf Scholars program is to identify and support promising pre-tenured faculty, early career practitioners, and advanced graduate students who wish to study the value and impact of servant leadership in a wide range of organizational or social environments. A signature effort of the Center since 2009, Scholars are selected annually from a national applicant pool.

Coffee Webinar Series - Background

Coffee with Webinar Series

The Greenleaf Center’s Coffee with Webinar series showcases the inspirational stories of servant-leaders. The range of speakers invited from a variety of sectors helps to deepen our understanding of the promise of servant leadership’s impact on individuals and organizations. Sessions in the past have addressed servant leadership and the transformation of organizational culture, climate change, health equity, and responsive policing.

Next Generation Initiative

The Next Generation Initiative (NGI) provides a unique experiential learning opportunity designed to immerse high school and college students in the concept of servant leadership. Participants are encouraged to develop lives of service, as well as embrace common characteristics that foster effective leadership. More specific learning objectives for the program include the following:

Becoming more familiar with the concept and practice of servant leadership

  • Engaging and interacting with servant-leader exemplars
  • Enhancing critical thinking, listening, and writing skills
  • Forming positive, mutually reinforcing peer relationships
Public Policy Lecture - Background

Robert K. Greenleaf Public Policy Lecture

The vision of the Lecture is to create an opportunity to assess societal challenges through the lens of Robert Greenleaf’s credo of building a more just and caring society. Designed to convene thought leaders and issue experts from a range of sectors, this gathering enables the examination of policy alternatives that hold promise for addressing the needs of marginalized communities.
