With a distinguished career in the food and beverage industry, James has a solid history of achievements. Before joining Voodoo Doughnut, he held influential positions at top companies such as Starbucks, Pete’s Coffee, Potbelly and SEA Crab House, consistently demonstrating his commitment to excellence and superior service.

James is a Cornell-certified advocate for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB). He has a strong passion for community involvement, having served on the board of Pride NW, a vital non-profit in the Portland area, for more than eight years. His dedication extends to supporting numerous organizations that focus on aiding animals, feeding the hungry, and uplifting historically marginalized communities. James and his husband Bobby are devoted parents to two thriving children. The Waldner family enjoys an active lifestyle, relishing the natural beauty of the Northwest and embarking on adventures across the country.
