Abstract:
Although servant leadership is beneficial for leaders, followers, and organizations, many leaders do not exemplify servant-oriented behaviors on a day-to-day basis. One potential reason why leaders may not engage in servant leadership is that many leaders question their ability to meet the expectations of the leader role. This suggests that reducing leaders’ sense of imposterism may be a way to promote more servant leadership in organizations. In our proposed project, we plan to develop and test a daily intervention to promote servant leadership behaviors by reducing leaders’ perceptions that they are imposters in their roles.
