Jihye Han is a doctoral student in Managerial Studies (Organizational Behavior/Human Resources) at the University of Illinois Chicago. Her research examines how expressions of gratitude and servant leadership shape relationships, motivation, and workplace dynamics. Specifically, she investigates when and how gratitude fosters positive social impact, as well as the potential unintended consequences of recognition in organizations. Jihye’s broader interests include moral emotions and moral leadership.
Prior to beginning her doctoral studies, Jihye earned her B.A. and M.A. in Labor Economics from Sogang University in Seoul, South Korea. She also has professional experience as an HR manager and as a lecturer in ethical management, which continues to inform her academic work. Through her scholarship, Jihye seeks to advance understanding of leadership that is both effective and humane, reflecting her interest in gratitude, servant leadership, and community building in organizations.
